Democrats’ Misguided Strategy

Over the years, Americans have become ever more savvy about advertising. We’ve increased our awareness — a communal gut-sense, if you will — of being plied with slick marketing at the expense of sincerity.

In this regard, Democrats mistakenly think they’re ahead of the curve. If their ‘Russian collusion’ meme plays itself out before the 2018 elections, they won’t help themselves by reaching for another crutch, such as their oft-employed ‘millionaires and billionaires’ routine.

Republicans only care about millionaires and billionaires, they tell us … Seriously?

Are American voters so void of common sense as to swallow that non-dimensional caricature of the Republican party? Some Democrats apparently think so, as evidenced by a recent video clip (to view it, click here), in which Democrat Senator Chris Murphy argues Democrats should drop one shallow argument so they can take up another.

Apparently, Democrats see electoral politics as all about marketing. To an extent, one cannot blame them, considering how the slick marketing of Barack Obama netted them the White House and both houses of Congress in 2008. Barack Obama was an attractive brand, cleverly promoted by the Liberal Media Complex.

Since 2008, however, Democrats have consistently lost ground on the electoral map. If they believe insincere caricature will outperform President Trump’s blunt populism in 2018, they are mistaken.
