Donald Trump’s current slide in the polls will continue. He has already fallen behind Dr. Ben Carson, on his way to being eclipsed by Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
Mr. Trump insults his opponents as a basic strategy. That is getting dull, and will only become more so as the weeks wear on. If he does not recalibrate this mistaken approach, then it’s over for him. Primary voters will weary of and jettison the guy.
When he finds himself out-polled by Carly Fiorina, he will have had enough. Such a man cannot stand being other than the center of attention. Once he no longer is … what then?
Will he drop out? Or do something unpredictable and unsettling? Thus, he intrigues.
